Blowing a change in views

fall-leaves-nature.jpg

Blowing in cool winds has always been the first showing of the change in seasons. All the tree leaves shed and fall to the ground. For two days I have been blowing the fallen leaves into my flower beds as a winter blanket covering. I don’t like raking them up anymore, now I have an electric leaf blower and it does all the work for me.

Last night as I drove home I noticed my neighbor's house down the street all lite up as if it was Christmas. This homeowner spends hundreds of dollars every year decorating her front yard for Halloween. It really is something to see. With Halloween just around the corner I dug into my stored holiday decorations and pulled out a few things to decorate my garden window. So far I have two light up pumpkins, fall leaves and fun little items for the occasion.

Since my Birthday comes before Halloween I tend to reflect on all the past years that have gone by. Where does the time go? Seems like only yesterday I was making costumes for my little ones to show off at their school Halloween parade. Wow, that seems like a million years ago.

Fall has always been my favorite time of the year. The colors are as if God took out a paint brush and gracefully splashed all the beautiful earth tone colors everywhere that everyone so admires.

I will just clean up from the trick or treaters and then there are all the Thanksgiving decorations to be set out. After the big dinner fall decorations are all put away for the biggest holiday of the year, Christmas. It’s only three months of constant decorating around the house and yard, but isn’t that what makes it all worthwhile.

So, blow the winds high and strong, because I am ready for a change. Maybe what I am really ready for is a change in people’s attitude. How can some people (like the yearly decorating Queen) down the street be so full of festive attitude and others are so mean-hearted? Or, is that the Halloween witch/warlock costume they are displaying? Never the less one should really take a second look in the mirror as maybe their moods should blow high into the sky rather than tumbling down on another.

Whatever the mood of others, I am cool as the Carmel apple dripping down the Popsicle stick of fun.
